The Singapore Airlines "10th ADSON We Are All Able Charity Golf Tournament - 2026" was successfully held at the Gokarna Golf Resort in Kathmandu. Organized by the Ability Development Society of Nepal (ADSON), this milestone event brought together enthusiastic golfers, corporate partners, and distinguished guests to raise vital funds for the education, rehabilitation, and vocational empowerment of persons with disabilities in Nepal. Supported by the Ambassadors Club Nepal as a notable contributor, the event successfully fostered community spirit and social inclusion through sports diplomacy, culminating in an impactful prize distribution ceremony celebrating athletic excellence and corporate generosity.

The 10th edition of the "We Are All Able" Charity Golf Tournament took place on Saturday, 23rd May 2026 (9th Jestha 2083) at the scenic Gokarna Golf Resort. As one of ADSON’s premier annual fundraising initiatives, the tournament serves a critical mission: mobilizing local and international resources to create sustainable livelihoods and self-reliance for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) across Nepal.

The tournament featured strong backing from long-time principal sponsor Singapore Airlines, which generously provided five Kathmandu-Singapore-Kathmandu economy class tickets alongside promotional goody bags for the players. Demonstrating a profound commitment to charity and global collaboration, the Ambassadors Club Nepal contributed to this program alongside a prominent cohort of cash and in-kind supporters, including Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd., Yeti Distillery, Gorkha Brewery, and the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

Tournament Highlights & Results

The event was played under the Stableford format with handicap allowances, drawing a competitive field of 68 active golfers out of 72 registered participants. Awards were presented across 10 distinct categories:

  • Overall Winner: Govinda Bahadur Bohara secured the ultimate victory with an impressive 43 stableford points, earning the coveted Kathmandu-Singapore-Kathmandu ticket sponsored by Singapore Airlines.
  • Runner-Up: Indra Dhara Bista claimed the trophy on a back-nine countback (21 points over Nawang Pasang Sherpa's 17 points) after both tied at 41 points.
  • Best Gross & Longest Drive: Tenzing Tshiring dominated the field with 38 gross points and additionally bagged the Longest Drive award.
  • Ladies Winner: Bipana Shrestha clinched the top spot with 36 points, closely followed by runner-up Astha Dulal with 34 points.
  • Senior Winner (Aged 60+): Sanjeev Chettri emerged victorious with 38 points.
  • Super Senior Winner (Aged 70+): Dr. Phauda Raj Thebe claimed the title with 29 points.
  • Specialty Categories: Pradip KC won Closest to the Pin, Anjila Yonjan earned Straightest Drive, and Rabindra Tiwari secured Most Birdies with four recorded birdies.
  • Lucky Draw: Registered player Ms. Astha Dulal won an additional round-trip ticket to Singapore courtesy of Singapore Airlines.

Future Vision  

During the opening remarks, Ms. Nirmala Gyawali, Public Relations & Fund Development Manager of ADSON and herself visually impaired, shared her inspiring journey. She emphasized ADSON’s unique standing as one of the few organizations comprehensively addressing all categories of disabilities through education, rehabilitation, and inclusive socio-economic opportunities.  

The Chairperson of ADSON, Mr. R.R. Pandey, extended profound gratitude to all "Sagarmatha, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri" tiered supporters. He highlighted that the funds from this 10th edition will be strictly funneled into empowering PwDs through inclusive organic farming, animal husbandry, and vocational training, ensuring their self-reliance and dignified placement in society. 

The prize distribution ceremony concluded successfully in the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Mr. Shubham Adhikari (Singapore Airlines), Mr. Pavitra Kumar Karki (Nepal Golf Association), and other ADSON board members, marking another triumphant chapter in community-driven empowerment.
